Recording in your browser

This recorder uses your browser’s built-in MediaRecorder and microphone access. When you hit record, the browser asks permission, then captures audio locally — it never leaves your device, which makes it both private and instant.

If the mic is blocked

If you previously denied access, click the lock or site icon in the address bar, set Microphone to Allow, and reload. On a phone, check the site permissions in your browser settings.

What format do I get?

Recordings are saved as WebM (or Ogg / M4A, depending on your browser) — small, high-quality and widely supported. Need an MP3 or WAV? Run the file through the Audio Converter afterwards.
