A GIF stores every frame as a full image with a limited palette, which is why long or large GIFs balloon in size. This tool grabs frames from the range you pick, scales them to your chosen width, and encodes them locally — so you stay in control of the trade-off between smoothness and file size.
The biggest wins come from a shorter range, a lower frame rate (8–12 fps looks fine for most clips) and a smaller width. Halving the width roughly quarters the file.
